Monsieur Mangetout translates to "Mister Eats All", the nickname of French Canadian, Michel Lotito who died in 2007. He ate 18 bicycles, 15 shopping carts, televisions, a Cessna 150 aircraft, a coffin - maybe his final act, and much more. There was an ancient Greek soothsayer called the Haruspex. He would determine the quality of land by dissecting animals found on it. If the entrails were healthy - the land was deemed healthy. You are what you eat. I like thinking about Lotito in relation to the Haruspex. If you put Mr. Lotito on the Haruspex's dissection table, your cuts would reveal that his insides mirrored the world around him and perhaps the quality of that world. Eat up.
